References from Au PairsReferences from au pairs can be obtained from various sources:
Certificate of Good ConductIn almost every European country the potential au pair will be able to ask his / her local authorities to send you a certificate of good conduct. Simply ask the au pair. Health CertificateYou can also ask your potential au pair to send you a health certificate issued by his or her local doctor (general practitioner). This document will most likely be in English. Most families are especially concerned in regards of HIV, hepatitis B, drug consumption and bulimia nervosa.
References from Host FamiliesReferences from host families can be obtained from
Certificate of Good ConductEven though it's not very common, it might be a good idea to ask the family for a certificate of good conduct.
